Dooars, 14th April: A leopard was trapped in a cage planted by the forest department in the Chuna Bhati Tea Garden under the Banarhat police station area.
According to sources, a person was killed in a leopard attack in the said tea garden a few days ago. Cages were then planted in the garden following the tragic incident.
This morning, the locals found the leopard trapped in the cage.
The Forest personnel immediately recovered the leopard upon receiving the news and released it into the forest.
