Naxalbari 02nd May: An adult leopard was found trapped in the cage planted by Naxalbari forest department after a woman was earlier attacked by it in Haatbhar Jote area.
After the incident, terror gripped the entire area and the locals sought help from the administration. Acting promptly, the forest department of Bagdogra set up a cage and within 24 hours the leopard was caught. The forest workers together with Bagdogra police struggled to control the crowd of people who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the wild animal. Reportedly, the leopard was rescued and was taken to Bengal Safari Park for treatment.
