Leopard attack on tea worker in Siliguri’s Gulma

Siliguri, 11th August: A female tea garden worker sustained injuries in the leopard attack. This incident took place today at Bhaismari Tea Estate under Gulma. The injured woman has been identified as Sunita Mal Paharia. An atmosphere of terror engulfed the entire area after the incident. 


According to the information, the labourers were working in the tea garden today morning as usual, when the leopard suddenly pounced on the worker. After this, the injured female worker was taken to Gulma Hospital, where, after first aid, she was referred to the district hospital. Presently the woman is undergoing treatment in the hospital. 

Meanwhile, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the Forest Department reached the Bhaismari tea garden. Reportedly, a cage has been planted in the garden by the forest workers to trap the animal.
