Leopard attack in Bagdogra injures one

Siliguri, 02nd August: A woman was injured in a leopard attack when she was cutting grass in the perishable cargo centre at Bagdogra airport. The woman, identified as Sashikala Rai, was rescued in critical condition and rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.


On the other hand, the forest workers of Bagdogra range reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident and launched search operations.

When contacted by phone, DFO Harikrishna of Kurseong Forest Department said that the officials of Bagdogra Forest Department reached the spot upon receiving the news. Besides, the staff of the Sukna Wildlife Department also reached the spot. While the wild animal is still at large, a cage will possibly be planted to trap it.
