Left leader Anil Saha passes away at the age of 84

Siliguri, 21st June: Left leader Anil Saha passed away at the age of 84. It has been learned that he died of old age complications at a private hospital in Siliguri. Saha had been the President of the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Council for a long time.


Upon receiving the news of his demise, Trinamool workers and activists including Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh and BJP leader Nantu Paul arrived to pay their respects to the veteran leader.

His body was taken to Siliguri sub-divisional council from his residence and was later taken to the CPIM party office on Hillcart Road. Left leader Ashok Bhattacharya and other leaders paid their last respects to him.


Ashok Bhattacharya said that Saha had made a significant contribution not only to politics but also to developmental work in the Siliguri subdivision. Bhattacharya said that his demise is a great loss to politics in the state.
