Phansidewa, 22nd May: Late last night, a fire broke out in Limbutari Social Forestry in Phansidewa, causing a sensation and panic in the entire area. Local residents noticed black smoke in the vicinity on Sunday night and upon investigation, discovered a massive fire engulfing the social forestry area.
Immediately, they alerted the Phansidewa Police, Ghoshpukur Forest Department, and Fire Department. Acting promptly, a fire engine from Matigara fire station was dispatched to the scene which successfully extinguished the flames. However, the fire resulted in the destruction of numerous trees within the social forestry, reducing them to ashes. Reportedly similar incidents of fire have occurred in the social forestry area in the past.
