Siliguri, 09th June: Kamtapur Progressive Party (KPP) leader Atul Roy lost his life to COVID-19 today.
Roy had been undergoing treatment for the past several weeks at a nursing home in Matigara. The news of his demise cast a shadow of mourning among the party leaders and workers.
Roy was seen to play an active role in the Kamatapur movement in North Bengal. Due to a financial crisis over his treatment, an appeal was also made to the Chief Minister.
