Kharibari police solve Rs 26 lakh robbery case, mastermind arrested from Ajmer, Rajasthan

Kharibari, 09th October: The Kharibari police successfully solved the Rs 26 lakh robbery case which was reported a few months ago. The police arrested the main mastermind of this case from Ajmer, Rajasthan and brought him to Siliguri on transit remand. He was produced in Siliguri court and was taken into police remand for 12 days. The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammad Mafizuddin, a resident of Islampur.


It is to be noted that on July 22, some miscreants looted Rs 26 lakh cash near Sona Chandi tea plantation in Kharibari block. Darjeeling district police took quick action in the case and arrested 8 miscreants. However, more of the gang members were absconding. After questioning the accused, the police learned that the mastermind of this whole robbery incident is still absconding. Following which the police arrested MD Mafizuddin from Ajmer, Rajasthan. The accused was produced in Siliguri court today and remanded for 12 days.
