Kamtapur People's Party (United) stage road blockade in support of various demands

Rajganj, 12th May: The Kamatapur People's Party (United) protested on Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway at Fatapukur in Rajganj by blocking the road in demand for separate statehood for Kamatipur and recognition of Kamatapuri language. Besides, they also protested against the rise in petroleum prices. 
On behalf of the organization, Nani Gopal Roy stated that people are suffering due to the rising prices of food items including petrol-diesel. He added that the demand for separate statehood and recognition of the Kamatapuri language has been going on for a long period of time. In view of this, a protest is being staged all over North Bengal. "If our demands are not met, we will initiate mass movement in the coming days," Roy added.
