Rajganj, 27th May: A joint operation was conducted by Bhorer Alo Police Station and the Excise Department against illegal country liquor production in the area.
During the raid, a large quantity of illicit liquor was destroyed and equipment used for manufacturing liquor was seized.
The operation was carried out on Wednesday morning in Sumribhita village under Majhiali Gram Panchayat by a joint team of NJP Excise Department and Bhorer Alo Police Station. Personnel from the excise department, OC Sudipta Dutta of Bhorer Alo Police Station, police staff, and central forces were present during the operation.
Police sources said several houses in the Sumribhita area were searched during the drive, leading to the discovery of illegal country liquor manufacturing units. Multiple earthen pots used for producing liquor were also recovered.
The Excise Department stated that similar operations will continue in the future to curb illegal liquor trade in the region.
