Jalpaiguri, 06th June: In support of various demands, District Trinamool Youth Congress President Saikat Chatterjee along with party’s members protested in front of Jalpaiguri Town Railway Station, on Monday.
Chatterjee stated that the coaches of Darjeeling Mail and Teesta Torsha have been removed from the station even though Mithali Express is not serviceable. Further taking a jibe, the TMYC leader alleged that the historic Jalpaiguri Town Railway Station has now been converted into a ‘Maha Shamshan’ ground.
In response to this, station manager Nitai Das stated that the TMYC has raised various demands concerning Darjeeling Mail and Teesta Torsha however no memorandum has been submitted in this regards. Nonetheless, Das assured to take the matter to the higher authorities.
