Jalpaiguri SP handed over a check of Rs 60,000 to Durga Puja Committees of Rajganj

Rajganj, 14th September: Jalpaiguri District Superintendent of Police Devarshi Dutta handed over checks of Rs 60,000 to the Durga Puja committees of Rajganj today. It is to be noted that like every year, this year also the Chief Minister of the state Mamata Banerjee announced a financial grant to Durga Puja committees. In regard to this, the same grant was handed over to about 58 clubs of the block at the Rajganj police station today.


Jalpaiguri District Superintendent of Police Devarshi Dutta said that checks were distributed officially to the committees as per the CM's instructions. This year the number of puja committees in the Jalpaiguri district has increased to about 690 clubs. Out of this, today, the checks were handed over to 58 clubs in Rajganj. Checks will be distributed to all the clubs in the district by tomorrow, the SP added. On this occasion DSP Head Quarter Sameer Paul, Additional SP Head Quarter Sandeep Sen, Rajganj Police Station IC Pankaj Sarkar, and others were present.
