Jalpaiguri Patient Welfare Association holds an emergency meeting

Jalpaiguri, 25th July: The members of the Jalpaiguri Patient Welfare Association held an emergency meeting at Jalpaiguri District Sadar Hospital on Saturday. Several important decisions were taken during the meeting regarding services in COVID Hospitals.


After the meeting, Vijay Chandra Barman, Chairman of the Patient Welfare Association and Chairman of the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA), stated that from now on doctors will pay a surprise visit to the hospitals to check the food being given to the patients.

Besides, the use of mobile phones by patients inside the hospital will be curbed. He further stated that several people are trying to defame the government by politicizing their every move. While some defamers have been identified, the health department will likely provide them with counselling sessions.


Apart from Barman, District Magistrate Abhishek Kumar Tiwari, COVID-19 OSD Dr Susanta Roy, PWD officer, Superintendent of Sadar Hospital Dr Gauram Naskar and municipality officials were present during the meeting.
