Jalpaiguri Municipality initiates sanitization measures in Jalpaiguri COVID-19 hospital and SARI Center

Jalpaiguri, 20th May: After Jalpaiguri reported a COVID-19 positive case, the Jalpaiguri Municipality, on Wednesday, initiated sanitization measures in Jalpaiguri COVID-19 hospital as well as the SARI Hospital.


As per the information, on May 08, 13 students from Jalpaiguri and 19 students from Cooch Behar district, returned home from Kolkata. Reportedly, the student infected with the coronavirus was also part of the team.

To prevent the further spread of the virus, the District Health Department commenced the process of swab tests of all the travelers as well as their family members.


Meanwhile, the coronavirus infected student is currently undergoing treatment at the Jalpaiguri COVID-19 hospital and is in a stable condition.

Saikat Chatterjee, a member of the Jalpaiguri Municipality Administrative Board, stated that disinfectants and sanitizers were regularly sprayed in various parts of the city from the past 40 days. He further maintained that the citizens and the health workers are in a state of panic after the first positive case was reported in the Sadar block.
