Rajganj, 11th February: The International Rajbanshi Kshatriya Milan Diwas and Kulguru Kulshishya Sammelan were held in Rajganj on the occasion of the 108th Upanayan Diwas of the Rajbanshi Kshatriya caste.
Reportedly, the festival was celebrated on the banks of the Karatoya river at Mehendi Gach, Ambari under the aegis of the Jalpaiguri District Committee. Though the ceremony commenced on Monday through various rituals, the main event took place on Tuesday. Apart from different parts of the country, renowned people from Bangladesh and Nepal participated in the gathering.
Karunakanta Adhikary (President of the Jalpaiguri District Committee of the said organization) stated that Shiv Puja, Ganges Puja, Shakti Sancharini puja and Radha-Govinda Puja were performed initially. The main event commenced by hoisting the flag of the organization and paying tribute to the portrait of Thakur Panchanan Barma.
