INTTUC stages protest in support of various demands concerning railway employees

Siliguri, 30th July: The INTTUC Workers’ organization NJP Branch staged a protest today in support of various demands.


The protestors alleged that the temporary railway workers, despite working continuously risking their lives amid the pandemic, have been warned of being dismissed from work. They further alleged that the railway department has also decided to reduce various allowances of the employees.

Under the leadership of the organization president Prasenjit Roy, a memorandum was handed over to the Chief Officer of the ADRM office in this regard.


In this context, Prasenjit Roy stated that the workers have been employed for the past 10 years. In the current alarming situation, they are working risking their lives. He further warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon.
