Siliguri, 27th January: The encroachment in the railway land in the area near the NJP Police station in Siliguri was removed, today. More than 20 shops were demolished by the Railways.
Meanwhile, Prasenjit Roy, the President of the NJP Local Committee of the Trinamool Congress Shramik Sangathan, along with the party workers, strongly opposed the action of the railways. They demanded that the railway management should rehabilitate the traders at the earliest. They warned of staging massive agitation if their demands were not met.
