Siliguri, 06th February: Atmosphere boiled up in Ward No. 01 of Siliguri after a fire broke out in the booth office of the ward’s independent candidate Virendra Kapoor (Masoom).
According to the information, the incident took place at the No. 45 election booth office in South Ambedkar Colony of Ward No. 01, late Saturday. Independent candidate Virendra Kapoor stated that the locals informed him regarding the fire, after which he immediately rushed to the spot.
He alleged that the fire was deliberately started and accused Trinamool candidate Sanjay Pathak of being behind the act. The incident has been reported to the police and the Election Commission.
