Siliguri, 09th January: Pedestrians are troubled by the haphazard parking of vehicles on almost all service lanes across the city.
Long queue of vehicles including trucks, trailers, auto-rickshaws, cars and two-wheelers are usually spotted parked illegally on Bidhan Road and Sevoke Road which hinders traffic flow. Despite launching various campaigns on behalf of the police to tackle the issue, traffic congestion has become a regular phenomenon in Siliguri.
The shopkeepers complained of being charged when they ask the people not to park their vehicle in front of the shop. They further alleged that the customers often struggle to come to their shop due to the vehicles parked outside. The traders sought for a permanent solution to this problem.
