Siliguri, 16th July: Illegal intoxicants and banned fireworks were recovered from a truck in Bagdogra.
It has been learned that the GST officials, acting on a tip-off, launched operations in Bagdogra and detained a truck holding a number plate of Jammu and Kashmir. However, the truck driver managed to escape from the scene. The truck was then handed over to the Bagdogra police.
Police recovered 4,800 bottles of cough syrup, 4320 pieces of intoxicating tablets and banned fireworks from the truck. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
