Siliguri, 15th January: Acting on a credible input, Panitanki police under the direct supervision of Shubhendra Kumar IPS, ACP East conducted a raid at the rented house of Sourav Paul at Ashrampara, Ward No. 13, Siliguri, and found that Paul and others were running an illegal call center (Friendship Club) using computers and mobile phones.
Paul and his accomplices were cheating gullible male customers by engaging them in adult chats and messages.
The owner of the illegal call center Sourav Paul and 38 other persons who were running the illegal business have been arrested and the computer sets and mobile phones that were being used by them have been seized.
A case under the relevant sections of law is being initiated against the arrested persons.
