Islampur, 30th September: A large quantity of illegal liquor has been recovered from a rice-laden lorry that was parked on the roadside near Kanki outpost in Uttar Dinajpur district.
Based on a tip-off, the officials of the Islampur Excise Department reached the spot and seized a huge quantity of illegal liquor and brought the lorry to the Islampur Excise Department.
Around 3,366 litres of illicit liquor worth around 20 lakh rupees were recovered from the vehicle. The Islampur Excise Department is investigating the incident.
