Siliguri, 28th January: House of Rajat Das was completely gutted down to ashes in Kawakhali after a fire broke out this afternoon.
Luckily, no one was present in the house when the fire broke out, However, all the household items and furniture were burnt to ashes. Allegedly, some gold jewellery present inside the house went missing after the incident.
Rajat Das is a van driver by profession and his family was already living amid poor financial condition. With no other option left, he has sought help from the government for financial assistance.
