Siliguri, 10th May: Yesterday, Siliguri Times covered a piece of news regarding a family of the Siliguri Ward No. 46 Kadamtala area, struggling to feed her three children.
Due to the ongoing lockdown, Deepa Sharma, with no source of income and very little savings left, desperately sought help from the administration to feed her three children in such a crisis.
In response to her request, several social activists extended their helping hand towards the needy family. One of which is Sudipto Bhowmick, a resident of Siliguri Deshbandhu Para, who handed over ration to the family today.
In this context, Bhowmick stated that it was a pleasure to help the needy family on the special occasion of Mother’s Day and also his son’s birthday.
Another social activist Mallika Debnath Roy stepped forward to help Deepa and further acknowledged Siliguri Times for featuring the news as it helped several people learn about difficulties being faced by various poor people.
