Siliguri, 15th April: Heavy rain with strong winds lashed over North Bengal this morning. Black clouds too hovered over Siliguri which was eventually followed by thunderstorms and rain. The unforeseen weather, however, acted very beneficial as the streets and markets were free from lockdown violators.
Raiganj in North Dinajpur district also experienced rainfall from 7 in the morning. However, no news of any damage from this rain was reported.
Likewise, the impact of Kal Baisakhi was also witnessed in the entire Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts. Dhupguri also received heavy rains and electricity service was also suspended in various areas of Jalpaiguri and Dhupguri.
