Harassment of Bihar examinees in Siliguri: Two arrested and produced in court

Siliguri, 27th September: Two young men from Bihar, who had traveled to Siliguri to take a Central Paramilitary Force recruitment exam, were reportedly harassed.


After a video of the incident went viral on social media, Bagdogra Police arrested Rajat Bhattacharya and Giridhari Roy in connection with the case.

According to reports, the two examinees were questioned and harassed for coming to Bengal from Bihar to appear for the exam. The accused allegedly threatened the victims, posing as policemen. The video of the incident quickly spread across social media platforms.


Following the incident, the police launched an investigation and arrested two members of the Bangla Pokkho organization. One of the arrested individuals, Rajat Bhattacharya, claimed that outsiders are securing jobs meant for Bengal’s youth using fake certificates. He further stated that their movement against this practice will continue.
