Guardians of a private school stage road blockade in Siliguri demanding reduction in school fees

Siliguri, 28th June: A road blockade was staged by the guardians of a private English medium school on Siliguri’s Iskcon Mandir Road demanding a reduction in school fees.

Allegedly, the school increased the fees this year as compared to the previous year, despite the school being closed due to the ongoing pandemic. Furthermore, it is also charging money for different sectors including electricity and water.

The guardians reached the school on Monday to talk to the school authorities about the matter. They alleged that the school authorities did not listen to them and instead informed them that the students will not be kept in the school if they did not pay the fees.

Hence, the agitated guardians staged a road blockade which led to traffic congestion in the area. Later, the Bhaktinagar Police reached the spot and lifted the road blockade. The police have also taken initiative to help the school authorities and parents sort the problem through proper discussion.
