GTA Chairman Anit Thapa visited Leprosy hospital amid COVID-19 pandemic

Kalimpong, 11th April: GTA Chairman Anit Thapa visited the Leprosy hospital of Kalimpong on Saturday and was extremely saddened by the condition of the hospital.

Thapa stated that he provided basic necessities and claimed to construct a proper house for them as soon as possible.
The GTA Chairman moved to Kalimpong after North Bengal’s first case of COVID-19 came to light. Thapa requested to follow the government orders to stay at home and be safe.

“Kalimpong has been considered as a hotspot by the govt. authorities, so it is necessary for all the people to follow the lockdown strictly. But I have been seeing the people in the Morning Bazaar hardly following the order by the government,” Thapa added.

The GTA Chairman mentioned data regarding the Singh Family, who were tested positive and were sent to Siliguri Isolation Center for Medical treatments, tested negative and were discharged today.

Thapa requested the general public not to wait for police or GTA or any authority if they see shops open and directly ask them to close the shops. “It is your duty,” Thapa stated.
