Darjeeling, 23rd July: In light of the increasing number of novel coronavirus positive cases in the hills, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Chairman Anit Thapa announced a complete lockdown in the municipal areas of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik for 07 days – starting July 26.
The District Magistrate of Darjeeling and Kalimpong stated the decision was taken after holding discussions with the GTA Chairman concerning the pandemic.
Furthermore, the lockdown will also be effective in all COVID affected areas under the GTA region, including Sukna, Tindharia Bazaar, Sukhia Pokhari Bazaar, Pokhriabong Bazaar, Bijanbari Bazaar.
