Goutam Deb inspects drainage system at Siliguri Ward No. 05

Siliguri, 20th October: Due to constant heavy rainfall for two days in a row, the drainage system in several areas is lying in a dilapidated condition. As a result, several wards under Siliguri Municipal Corporation are waterlogged.


Goutam Deb, chairman of SMC’s administrative board, reached Ganganagar area of ​​Ward No. 05, on Wednesday, and inspected the drainage system. Besides, the cleaning staff of SMC was deployed to clean the garbage.

Goutam Deb accused the former board of directors of SMC of not doing any work. He maintained that surveys are being conducted in multiple wards. “With the report of this survey, we will commence the work of constructing high drains and discharging water in the river with the help of PWD Department and other engineering departments,” he added.
