Siliguri, 30th July: After arriving at the Bagdogra Airport on Thursday, Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) President Mann Ghising stated that the centre must find a permanent political solution regarding the hills and should make it clear before the 2021 assembly elections.
GNLF president Mann Ghising and General Secretary Mahendra Chhetri participated in a meeting in Delhi along with the State BJP as well as the central BJP leaders to discuss various issues related to the hills.
In this context, Mann Ghising, on Thursday, stated that the BJP has only been assuring of a permanent political solution in the hills. However, no initiative has been taken so far. He added that this year, before the 2021 elections, the residents of the hills have high hopes in this regard. All the issues and the present situation have been reported to the centre.
He further stated that only holding discussions with a friendly party is not enough. If necessary, discussions should also be held with each one separately.
On the other hand, GNLF General Secretary Mahendra Chhetri stated that BJP has fulfilled every promise made in the election manifesto. “I hope BJP will also find a permanent political solution for the hills,” he added.
