Cooch Behar, 09th May: Sensation prevailed after a horrific case surfaced from Bandhpada area of Ward No. 02 under Mathabhanga of Cooch Behar. Reportedly, a man was beaten to death by his daughter’s lover’s friend.
The deceased have been identified as Shibu Chandra. His wife alleged that their daughter was in a love affair with a youth named Bapi Mian. Apparently, Bapi’s friend Bishal Mandal called their daughter last night. When both the parents opposed the duo talking with each other, Bishal came to their house and allegedly caused havoc. He beat up the girl’s family members including her father Shibu Chandra, due to which he lost his life.
The accused Bishal Mandal was arrested by police the same night and an investigation has been launched into the matter. Meanwhile, Shibu’s wife has urged the administration to take strict action against the accused.
