Siliguri, 22nd October: The Ghoshpukur outpost police recovered illegal foreign liquor and arrested one person in the incident. The arrested accused has been identified as Akash Kumar, a resident of Darbhanga, Bihar.
It has been learned that Akash Kumar loaded liquor in a four-wheeler in the Rathkhola area of Naxalbari block. After receiving a tip-off, the police detained the car and recovered 600 bottles of foreign liquor.
According to police sources, the liquor was intended for smuggling in Darbhanga. The market value of the recovered liquor is around Rs 36,000.
He was sent to Siliguri court on Friday.
