Gajoldoba Bridge temporarily closed a few days after its inauguration

Gajoldoba, 23rd December: The newly opened Gajoldoba Bridge was closed soon after its inauguration. Consequently, the tourists faced a ‘No Entry’ board while entering the new bridge.


According to reports, the Gajoldoba Bridge, constructed as a replica of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, was closed a few days after its inauguration, and barricades have been installed. As a result, the tourists could be seen disappointed. Administration sources revealed that the work of the said bridge was incomplete for which the traffic over the bridge has been halted.

Despite the temporary closure, the new bridge has created a buzz amongst the tourists as several people were spotted clicking photographs near the bridge.


Speaking in this regard, Rajganj MLA and Vice Chairman of Gajoldoba Development Authority (GDA) Khageswar Roy stated that the bridge has been closed due to some incomplete work. He added that the bridge will be fully functional ahead of the new year.
