Four-lane road work to commence in Siliguri from November 17: MP Raju Bista

08th November: Siliguri will soon get its four-lane road from the route of Matigara’s Balasan River to Sevoke. A major problem of the city which is traffic will be resolved with the construction of the four-lane. 
BJP MP Raju Bista informed that the tender process has been initiated for the said four-lane from Matigara’s Balasan River to Sevoke before he left for Delhi at the Bagdogra Airport today. The Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for the construction work of the road in Siliguri on 17th November.
He further said that work on the development of Bagdogra Airport will also be started. Along with this, MP Raju Bista also took a jibe at Siliguri Municipality Corporation Mayor Goutam Deb regarding the dengue situation in Siliguri concerning the rising dengue cases in the city. He further said the Mayor should resign if he is unable to contain such a crisis.  Apart from this, an amount of Rs 800 crore has also been sanctioned in Kalimpong and Kurseong municipalities for the Centre’s water projects. He added that such water work projects will also be brought to Siliguri at a budget of Rs 500 crore.
