Siliguri 30th April: NJP Police arrested four individuals for invading government property and riverbank by illegally constructing an iron bridge on the Sahu River in Dabgram zone-02. Acting promptly, the administration broke down the illegal bridge after the matter came to light.
It is to recall, that on Wednesday West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee instructed Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma to take strict action against encroachments of government properties and river banks. Taking this into account the Police Commissioner launched an operation after which Bapan Das, Kartik Bose, Nirmal Roy, and Debasish Barman were arrested for the aforementioned crime. The accused were produced in Jalpaiguri Court today.
