Siliguri, 11th September: In view of the demands made by the locals, bitumen roads will be constructed instead of CC (Cement Concrete) road in the Shanti Nagar area of Dabgram II. On Monday, the foundation stone for the construction of the road was laid by Zilla Parishad member Manisha Roy and Anchal President Bhavesh Roy.
As per reports, 1 km of CC road was planned to be constructed in the said area under the Pathashree Scheme. However, the residents were not pleased with the development and demanded the construction of a bitumen road. In this regard, the residents alleged that during the rainy season, the road gets muddy, making it difficult for daily commutes. They added that the construction of a bitumen road would benefit the residents.
