Siliguri, 07th April: An ambulance driver was arrested for allegedly recording and sharing footage of the dead body of the COVID-19 positive woman from Kalimpong who passed away on March 28 at North Bengal Medical College-Hospital. The arrested accused has been identified as Kamal Basak.
As per the report, the Siliguri Cyber Crime branch launched an operation in the Thiknikata area near NMBCH last night and arrested the accused from his residence. He was produced before the Siliguri court on Tuesday.
Upon interrogation, Basak admitted his crime stated that he recorded the video and shared it on a social media group, from where the video clip went viral.
