Cooch Behar, 10th November: In a recent development, police officials successfully arrested a gang of dacoits with firearms and live bombs before they could execute a criminal activity in the Singimari area of Sitai, Cooch Behar. The incident led to the arrest of the accused Tutul Barman, Prosenjit Biswas, Mahalam Sheikh, Anisul Islam, and Basir Ali.
According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, the Sitai police apprehended the gang from the riverbank of Singimari River near Sagardighi Bridge. In addition, the cops retrieved a country-made rifle, 8 live bombs, 10 packets of chocolate bombs, jute rope, an iron rod, 4 small torch lights, 2 gas lighters, and other items from their possession gathered with the intention of executing a crime.
However, the gang was taken into custody ahead of time. At present, the entire incident is under further police investigation.
