First convention of Darjeeling District Mid-Day Meal Workers Union organized in Siliguri on 13-point demands

Siliguri, 29th January: West Bengal’s Mid-Day Meal Workers Union, affiliated with the CPI (M) organization CITU, has organized the first conference of cooks of the Darjeeling district in Siliguri. Through the said conference, the members of the West Bengal Mid-Day Meal Meal Workers Union raised their various problems and grievances. 


 

Reportedly, today the West Bengal Mid-Day Meal Workers Union took out a rally in front of Anil Biswas Bhavan, Hill Cart Road. The rally concluded in front of the hall of Kanchenjunga Stadium via Hashmi Chowk. After this, the first conference of the Day Meal Workers Union was organized in the hall house of the stadium. 


 

The convention discussed several demands, including the minimum allowance of Rs 21,000, regular payment of salary, mid-day meals up to the secondary level, and giving identity cards to each cooking worker.
