Siliguri, 22nd November: Siliguri’s Mayor Goutam Deb held a meeting in Siliguri Municipal Corporation with the council and discussed various ways to help the fire-affected victims, on Tuesday.
The Mayor ensured to provide the victims with financial aid of Rs 5,000 from the Mayor’s Relief Fund that will be handed over by Wednesday and also to construct new one-bedroom houses for the ones who lost their house in the fire incident in Khudiram Colony. Apart from this, he also assured to build a kitchen and community restroom.
After returning to Siliguri on Monday, Mayor Goutam Deb inspected the area along with Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Municipal Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, and members of the Mayor’s Council. The Mayor also assured them that important official documents lost in the fire will be handed over to them soon.
