Siliguri, 06th July: Sensation prevailed after a major fire broke out at a steel furniture factory in Siliguri’s Sevoke Road.
As per the report, the workers spotted the smoke coming out of the factory, this morning. Following which, the fire brigade was informed. Two fire engines reached the spot shortly after and extinguished the fire. Several valuables worth lakhs were destroyed in the incident.
The factory authorities primarily assumed that the fire broke out due to a short circuit. The owner said that the factory was closed ever since strict restrictions were imposed in the state. The fire has apparently caused a loss of lakhs of rupees.
