Financial compensation to be given to the families of the ten pilgrims who died due to short-circuit: Minister Aroop Biswas

Siliguri, 1st August : Ten pilgrims while on their way to the Jalpesh temple died and several others were injured due to electrocution in the wee hours of Monday at Changrabandha. After the matter came to light state Power Minister Aroop Biswas, on the order of the Chief Minister, landed at Bagdogra airport from Kolkata to meet the victims.


While addressing the media, the minister stated that he will be visiting the injured in the Jalpaiguri Super Speciality Hospital and would be meeting relatives of the deceased at Sitalkuchi tomorrow. He assured to provide financial compensation to the kin of the deceased, and if necessary, the injured will be treated in Kolkata.
