Fierce fire in a detergent factory in Fulbari gutted goods worth crores of rupees 

Rajganj, 08th January: A fire broke out in a private detergent manufacturing factory in the Amaidighi area of Fulbari on Saturday night. During the fire, goods worth crores kept in the factory were burnt to ashes. 


 

Reportedly, there is a warehouse near the detergent manufacturing factory where they had kept blankets for the distributors and pots, buckets, mugs and many more kept for the customers. The fire initially broke out in the said godown after which the workers tried to douse the flames, but in no time the fire took a formidable form. After this, they informed the fire department. As soon as the news was received, two fire engines from Siliguri and later three more tenders reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after about 10 hours of continuous efforts. 


 

In this regard, factory manager Nirmal Dutta said that the fire may have started due to an electrical short circuit. He reached the spot as soon as he got the news. He added that they tried to extinguish the fire with their firefighting technique, but the fire could not be controlled. The blaze was brought under control after the efforts of five fire engines. He told that there has been a loss of about Rs 10 crore due to the fire.
