Lataguri, 26th August: A woman was killed and three others were critically injured in a road accident on the National Highway between Gorumara Wildlife Sanctuary and the Lataguri forest area.
According to local sources, four people were travelling in a four-wheeler when the vehicle suddenly lost control while passing through the forest and crashed into a roadside tree. The impact severely damaged the vehicle, leaving the occupants trapped inside.
Following the accident, police from Matelli Police Station and traffic personnel reached the spot and rescued all four occupants. They were taken to Mangalbari Rural Hospital in Chalsa, where doctors declared the woman dead.
The three injured individuals, who were reportedly in critical condition, were later referred to Malbazar Super Specialty Hospital for further treatment.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
