Siliguri, 26th August: Siliguri District Hospital is set to be gradually transformed into a fully paperless facility, Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh said after a Rogi Kalyan Samiti meeting on Wednesday.
An important decision was also taken at the meeting regarding the hospital’s dialysis services. The number of beds in the dialysis department, currently five, will be increased to ten. The move is expected to reduce the pressure on dialysis services for kidney patients.
The meeting also discussed measures to address parking problems at the hospital and develop better infrastructure for patients and their families.
Ghosh discussed the hospital’s future plans with the Chief Medical Officer of Health of the district and the hospital superintendent. He also announced that steps would be taken to make the hospital’s paediatric department fully air-conditioned, with the aim of providing a more comfortable and improved environment for children undergoing treatment.
Overall, several measures are being taken to make Siliguri District Hospital more modern, technology-driven and patient-friendly.
