Family members of youth who died in road accident submitted memorandum to the Siliguri Police Commissioner

Siliguri, 02nd March: The family members of Sourabh Thami, who died in a road accident, met the Siliguri Police Commissioner and handed over a memorandum demanding a fair investigation into the incident, today. Bhakte Thami, Sourabh’s father, stated that his son was killed in a road accident in Bagdogra, on February 21. However, the police informed the family members about the incident, three days later.

Bhakte alleged that his son has been murdered, but the police have covered the incident and described it as a road accident. Bhakte questioned the police as to why his family members were informed about the death of his son, after an autopsy, on February 23 when the incident had actually occurred on February 21.

The family members have alleged that the ASI of Bagdogra conducted an unfair investigation and lodged a complaint to the Siliguri Police Commissioner, regarding the matter. The family members have also demanded that the police should prove that the road accident occurred, if not, then Sourabh’s killers should be arrested and punished as soon as possible.
