Even High Court has very little faith in the investigations undertaken by Bengal Police: Raju Bista

The Calcutta High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) to probe post-poll murder and rape cases in West Bengal. The court has also referred all other cases cited by the NHRC committee to a court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT). Furthermore, the court said, ‘any obstruction in the course of investigation by anyone shall be viewed seriously.’

In view of this, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista said that the decision is a direct indictment of the West Bengal Government and showcases that even the High Court has very little faith in the investigations undertaken by the Bengal Police.

“I believe, this is the right time for West Bengal Police to introspect, on if they want to uphold the constitution or continue to cover up all the illegal works, murder, rape, arson caused by TMC cadres. I am confident that the law of the land will prevail, and those who have caused violence and those who have tried to shelter the murderers and rapists, all will be brought to justice,” the MP said in a statement.
