Elephant calf rescued in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 22nd June: An elephant calf was rescued by the forest workers in the Jhapu Jote area on the Indo-Nepal border in Naxalbari, on Wednesday.


Reportedly the personnel of the Tukriajhar and Bagdogra Forest Departments reached the spot and caught the calf in the net. It was later sent to the Typu Beat office at Bagdogra airport for a medical check-up. It has been said that the calf will be sent to Siliguri Bengal Safari.
