Alipurduar, 24th August: Elephant attacks persist in the tea estates of Dooars as wild elephants continue to wreak havoc in the region. Late Friday night and early Saturday morning, a herd of elephants entered the Line No. 09 of Chuapara Tea Estate, causing significant damage. Two shops and a house were destroyed during the rampage.
According to locals, the wild elephants emerged from the nearby Buxa forest and entered the locality.
